Why Dental Pain Increases At Night?

There is never a good time to have toothache, but its worst to have pain at sleeping time.

It happens with natural and vital or partially dead pulp only. As artificial teeth or Dental Implants don’t have sensory tissue, so we don’t get severe pain with them.

There are some reasons:

1 More blood flow to head end in sleeping position, putting extra pressure on sensitive areas of teeth.

2 Late night snack containing sugar leads to plaque formation and pain.

3 Human mind is busy in day time with work and other activities. So less distraction at night

4 Teeth grinding could be one reason to have pain in night Remedies 1 keep head up 30 degree above or in propped up position 2 brush teeth before sleep 3 use custom night guard or dental splint 4 take routine oral health check up
